Veeam attains No.1 position during 2H’21 in ANZ data replication & protection software market share

This is the first time Veeam has achieved status as ANZ’s largest supplier, with YoY growth almost double the overall market average of 8.7%.

Gary Mitchell, Vice President ANZ, Veeam said: “Veeam has had an incredible track record as we continue to work with our partners to ensure every single customer has the tools they need to protect and manage their data. Customers are voting with their wallets and selecting Veeam to protect one of their most valuable assets. With Veeam firmly at the epicenter of the data ecosystem, we couldn’t be prouder in attaining No.1 for market share in ANZ.”

“Veeam is growing at a rapid rate that is outpacing the overall market saturation. IDC expects the total Data Protection-as-a-Service (DPaaS) market to reach $18.4 billion in spending by 2025[1], so there is a large market opportunity given businesses now have more data than ever to protect. Today’s IDC tracker results prove the way we’re going about this is working, and we’re not slowing down. Veeam has great ambitions to reach new heights as a trusted technology partner in modern data protection, but also remains committed to taking partners on the journey to achieving growth and success across ANZ,” said Mitchell.

“Reaching no.1 market share in ANZ is a testament to our team and company culture, the pace of development and innovation, and our collaboration with partners to deliver modern data protection solutions that exceed customer expectations and build trust,” said Shiva Pillay, General Manager and Senior Vice President, APJ, Veeam. “I am extremely proud of this incredible team as we take Veeam’s growth story from strength to strength.”

In the IDC Semi-Annual Software Tracker for Data Replication & Protection 2H’21, Veeam globally had the fastest revenue growth YoY (+14.8%) among the top five vendors, all other vendors combined, and the overall market average. Veeam’s growth was more than double the nearest top 5 competitors and was tied as the No.1 vendor worldwide[2]. Veeam was also the No.1 provider in both EMEA and LATAM and No.3 in APJ by market share and achieved the fastest YoY growth among each region’s top 5 competitors.

To date, Veeam has 400,000+ customers worldwide, including 81% of the Fortune 500 and 70% of the Global 2,000 companies as customers. In ANZ, customers include Clough Group, Anglicare Southern Queensland, City of Vincent and Lindsay Australia.
